About TUCCA

TUCCA is a non-profit and non-government organization that offers high quality multidisciplinary treatment to children and adolescents with cancer, with zero costs neither to the patient nor to families.

In order to optimize resources, TUCCA keeps a partnership with Hospital Santa Marcelina and invests all its received proceeds directly and exclusively into resources that make a difference in better treatments, so as to reach the best clinical results.

Besides treatments, TUCCA also invests in research, early prognosis, and professional training; it also relies on a multidisciplinary team that assists patients and their families until they are completely well.

Music for the cure

Created in 2000, the project TUCCA MUSIC FOR THE CURE was conceived to provide funds to the Association.

Every year the project presents a subscription series which delights listeners from all generations with jazz and classical music. And what better way to raise funds for this important cause than with music performed by renowned artists?

Our concert series has already presented some of the biggest names of classical music and jazz in the world, such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, John Eliot Gardiner, Maxim Vengerov, Egberto Gismonti, Sumi Jo, Shlomo Mintz, Brad Mehldau, Sarah Chang, Daniel Hope, Paquito D´Rivera, Andreas Scholl, Nelson Freire, Madeleine Peyroux, Natalie Dessay, Kurt Elling, among many others.

More about our next concert

We are very delighted to announce our third concert at London’s prestigious Cadogan Hall, next September, which will be a celebration of European baroque and Brazilian music with Avi Avital and Hamilton de Holanda, two of the most world-renowned mandolinists. They will play together for the first time in our charity concert in benefit of children and adolescents with cancer.

Joined by the Brazilian string ensemble ‘São Paulo Chamber Soloists’ and by the percussionist Amoy Ribas, they will present a program with baroque Mandolin Concerts by Bach and Vivaldi alongside special new arrangements for Brazilian pieces by composers such as Radamés Gnatalli and Ary Barroso.

Multiple Latin Grammy winner Hamilton de Holanda’s rhythm and improvisation will meet virtuoso and exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist Avi Avital in a unique presentation.

All funds raised through this concert will be used to support the treatment of children and teenagers with cancer in Brazil. Join our cause!
